Iyengar Asana & Anatomy Yoga Retreat
18.5 hours of yoga over three days, at the enchanting Westerbeke Ranch, in Sonoma California.
Anatomy & Asana retreat starts on Thursday with check-in time starting at 4:00pm. Departure time from Westerbeke is Sunday by 3:00pm.
The retreat starts on Thursday night after dinner with a relaxation session.
Early morning pranayama session starts each day. Friday & Saturday has two asana classes each day. Sunday asana class ends at noon.
Each class session will start with a musculoskeletal PowerPoint presentation focusing anatomical movements that will relate to asana movements in the following class. Throughout that asana practice the PowerPoint theme will be brought together and intertwined with the asana movements and alignments.
Westerbeke’s model of operation is based on sharing. Meaning you share meals together and cabin rooms. Cabins rooms can accommodate from 2- 4 beds. Westerbeke do not sale the cabins they rent the beds in a cabin – share. (If you would like a private room you would have to pay for the other bed.)
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet style. Vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals are available depending on your personal eating request. (dietary choices will be indicated on your registration form)
Westerbeke’s architecture and ambiance is California mission style which is nestled hillside. It offers a quite serenity with its cabins connected by its lush garden paths tucked under large native oaks. Cabin porch sitting offers a relaxing respite, alone with quaintly located patios, a meditation walking circle and poolside sitting offers the body, mind and spirit the opportunity of rejuvenation. Swimming, hot tubs and a massage reservation can enhance your stay.
