The Importance of the Pelvic Floor

with Jaki Nett

February 20th – 20st, 2016
2:00 – 5:00pm each day

Supta Padangusthasana

The pelvic floor is not a topic that we talk openly about in yoga classrooms like the back, legs, arms or chest. But it is an important area of the body that needs conscious attention. The pelvic floor is referred to in two ways: the pelvic floor as an area or the pelvic floor as an anatomical structure. It is important to understand the anatomical pelvic floor and assessor muscles to have an affect on the pelvic floor as an area in your yoga practice. Pelvic floor muscle dysfunction can have an adverse effect on one's life ranging from incontinence to intimacy.

In this two-day workshop, students will gain an experiential understanding of how to practice and teach asana for the pelvic floor with decorum and accessibility. This is not a therapeutics class but if you want to discuss a personal issue and have it addressed in class (confidentially) you may email Jaki at jaki@iynv.com.

Open to All Levels.
